The cornerstone of Kaival Gyan Chicago Foundation since it was established is teamwork. It is the reason why we have been able to grow as a community and make a difference. From young children to grown adults everyone has worked together to build pillars of character, faith, and perseverance. Of course none of this would be possible without the divine blessings of Paramguru Shreemat Karunasagar Maharaj and the guidance and inspiration of Acharya Shree Avichaldasji Maharaj.
After our Paramguru Pran Pratishtha in 2007, Kaival Gyan Mandir began organizing young children, teenagers, and young adults to form a youth group. This group's main focus was to educate our children about our culture, language, and religion. Every Sunday, children come to our mandir to learn Gujarati, participate in Satsang, and participate in cultural programs. At first, kids simply participated in these activities and came to mandir to deepen their roots. However, as time went on and the group continued to grow, children began taking on more responsibilities and they started becoming more active.
Adults of all ages came together to volunteers in the various sectors of the mandir to help build a well rounded community. From daily activities to preparing for special events and programs, volunteers give their time in countless ways - from working in the kitchen to decorating for events, mandir volunteers continue to work to make the mandir a pillar in the Hindu community with a welcoming atmosphere.
